February Birthstone: Amethyst

I’ve been trying to add more sterling silver into my jewelry repertoire, and today I found some time to make this amethyst and tourmalated quartz bracelet.

I wired all the beads on 22 gauge, half hard sterling silver wire, and used gray Swarovski pearls as accent beads. Two different cuts of tourmalated (also know as tormilated quartz) and amethyst beads are used as accents. All the findings are sterling silver as well.

I’m finding it a bit hard to photograph the actual colors in the bracelet, because the stones are translucent and keep changing in different light. The bracelet measures about 8.5 inches long and can be extended to nine inches if closed at the end of the jumpring chain.
